New companies join Torino Piemonte Aerospace for the third year of activity
Torino Piemonte Aerospace project has been renewed for the third year and enhanced with new members and contents.
87 top class enterprises of the aerospace & defence sector based in Piemonte have been selected according to strict parameters of evaluation, which took into consideration the technical know-how, the presence of innovative products and processes, the quality of the company, the programmes developed, the global coverage, the human resource potential and the ability to work as a team.
The resulting assortment represents all fields of production: aircraft manufacturing, components & mechanics, plants & machineries, systems & subsystems, special metalworking, defence vehicles & systems, components of electrical systems for aircrafts and satellites, test and control equipment, engineering, prototyping, software creation and consultancy.
Many enterprises, thanks to their productive features, can be placed in more than a sub sector (civil aeronautics & defence, civil aeronautics & aerospace). Product quality, project design capabilities and flexibility are their main competitive factors and are indispensable requirements to be part of the project. Almost 80% of the companies invest in R&D, while 50% own national and international quality certificates. 80% of the selection already exports: this is a further confirmation of their international vocation and experience in dealing with foreign market. Their exports are mostly directed to EU Countries (51%), North America (18%) and Asia/Oceania (18%).
The project offers international players - main constructors and prime contractors - a preferential channel to meet and facilitate business development with best-in-calss companies, that are capable of meeting buyers' demands and responding to all standards imposed by product, process certification or by quality standards.
Member companies are backed to improve their level of international activity.
Support initiatives include participations in worldwide events such as Air Shows (Farnborough International, ILA in Berlin), international Business Conventions to connect demands and supplies (Aeromart Montréal and Aeromart Toulouse), SAE Congresses & Exhibitions, to introduce companies' technical and technological know-how to the SAE International Community members. Important marketing activities are scheduled: buyers and technical experts from international companies are constantly invited to Torino to visit piedmontese companies. Moreover, international networks between public bodies, institutions, associations and clusters are promoted.
Finally, training on technical and commercial subjects is provided to member companies, in order to improve international competitiveness and facilitate the approach with international buyers.
Target areas of the project are Europe, Central Europe, Russia, Nafta countries, Middle and Far East zones.
An Annual General Meeting of Torino Piemonte Aerospace project was held on December 18th, 2009. The meeting was joint with two other special projects of the Torino Chamber of Commerce: From Concept to Car and Think up , in order to foster synergies and to promote dialogue between the companies of the three projects, enabling them to better understand how to develop their business worldwide by saving time and resources.
The aerospace section of the meeting was focused on the overview of the second year of activity of the project, offered companies testimonials of success stories and presented scheduled activities for 2010.
