Farnborough International Air Show - Farnborough July 14 - 20, 2008

July 2008 - Piemonte, North-Western Italian region, attended Farnborough International Airshow (14-20 July) presenting 18 top-class companies, 9 of which represented by the Italian Aerospace Cluster (I.A.C). The participation - organised in the Hall 1 Stand C20a of the Italian pavilion headed by AIAD/MOD, the Italian Industries Association for Aerospace and Defense / Ministry of Defense - has been promoted by the Torino Chamber of Commerce and managed by Piemonte Agency for Investments, Export, and Tourism within Torino Piemonte Aerospace, project providing international buyers with a preferential channel to meet and start business with a selection of 62 top class aerospace and defense enterprises based in the region.
Tradition, innovation and competitiveness are the main features of the Piedmontese aerospace companies: on stand international players had the opportunity of finding possible new partners which guarantee cutting-edge technology and internationally certified quality. Moreover, on booth, visitors and buyers could also acquaint with another protagonist of the regional aerospace framework: the Piedmontese Aerospace District Promoting Committee, coordination board constituted by the main regional institutions to develop and foster the excellence of the aerospace industry, supporting financially the scientific and entrepreneurial capacities of the local companies.
At the Piedmontese stand, visitors could also discover the World Air Games, the official Olympic games of air sports to be staged in Torino from 7th to 13th June 2009, when the top athletes will compete for the prestigious title of "World Air Games Champion".
A deep exchange of company profiles with some of the italian and international group participations at FIA 2008 such as Campania, Puglia, Canada, Maryland, Midlands Aerospace Alliance, North West Alliance, East of England etc. has been created to promote match making and businees meetings during the event.
On July 17th, 2008 a networking event by Torino Piemonte Aerospace stand has been organised to foster Piemonte aerospace excellence.
Farnborough International 2008 attracts record orders worth some $88.7bn (£44.35bn) (final report)
